Open the 
BlackBerry Enterprise IM
 app

Verify with your administrator that your 
BlackBerry 10
 device is activated on 
BlackBerry UEM
 version 12.6, 
BES12
 version 12.1 or later, or 
BES10
 version 10.1 or later, has a work space, and is running 
BlackBerry 10 OS
 version 10.2.1 or later.
  1. To switch to your work space, swipe down from the top of the screen. Tap 
    Switch to Work
    .
    • If the 
      BlackBerry Enterprise IM
       app is a required app for your organization, it is installed for you.
    • If the 
      BlackBerry Enterprise IM
       app is an optional app, you must download and install it. In the 
      BlackBerry World
       for Work storefront, on the 
      Company Apps
       screen or 
      Public Apps
       screen, tap 
      Enterprise IM
  2. In your work space, tap 
    Enterprise IM
    .
  3. If necessary, enter your sign-in information. If you don't have the required information, contact your administrator. Complete one of the following tasks:
    • In a 
      Microsoft Lync
       2010, 
      Microsoft Lync
       2013, or 
      Skype for Business
       environment, complete the following fields:
      • Sign-in address
        : Type the sign-in address that your 
        Microsoft Lync
         administrator assigns you. You can find your sign-in address on the Sign-in screen of your instant messging client on your computer. 
      • User name
        : Optionally, type your 
        Windows
         login ID in the following format: 
        domain
        \
        user name
        . You can determine the user name from the Sign-in address.
      • Password
        : Type the password that you use to access the network in your organization.
    • In an 
      IBM Sametime
       environment, complete the following fields:
      • User Name
        : Type the log in information that you use to access your 
        Sametime
         desktop client.
      • Password
        : Type the password that you use to access the network in your organization.
