Before you install 

BlackBerry UEM

, decide if you want to configure high availability for the 

BlackBerry UEM

 database. Database high availability allows you to retain database service and data integrity if issues occur with the 

BlackBerry UEM

 database.

You can use one of the following 

Microsoft SQL Server

 features for database high availability:

AlwaysOn Failover Cluster Instances (FCI) for 
Microsoft SQL Server
 2014 or 2016 (Standard Edition)
AlwaysOn Availability Groups for 
Microsoft SQL Server
 2014 or 2016 (Enterprise Edition)
Database mirroring for 
Microsoft SQL Server
 2014

If you want to use an AlwaysOn feature, you must complete configuration steps before you install 

BlackBerry UEM

. This section gives you instructions for configuring database high availability using AlwaysOn.

BlackBerry UEM

.
