You can open files that contain certain non-standard characters, such as Latin (East European), Latin (West European), and Japanese (Shift JIS). (JI 2674191)

You could not open a document in BlackBerry Edit if the document originated from a non-BlackBerry Dynamics app such as Google Drive. (JI 2651670)
