Creating email profiles
You can use email profiles to specify how devices connect to your organization's mail server and synchronize email messages, calendar entries, and organizer data using
Exchange ActiveSync
or IBM Notes

.If you want to use
Exchange ActiveSync
, you should note the following:- For extended email security, you can enable S/MIME foriOSdevices andAndroiddevices. You can enable S/MIME orPGPforBlackBerry 10devices.PGPis supported byBlackBerry 10 OSversion 10.3.1 and later.
- If you enable S/MIME, you can use other profiles to allow devices to automatically retrieve S/MIME certificates and check certificate status.
If you want to use
Notes Traveler
, you should note the following:- To useNotes TravelerwithiOSdevices, you must enable theBlackBerry Secure Gateway.
- To Do data synchronization is only supported onBlackBerry 10devices. It uses the SyncML communication protocol on theNotes Travelerserver.
- For extended email security onBlackBerry 10devices, onlyIBM Notesencryption is supported (S/MIME is not supported).
- To useNotes Travelerwith theIBM Verseclient app:
- forSamsung Knoxdevices, you configure the settings forIBM Versein the email profile
- forAndroid Enterprisedevices, you configure the settings forIBM Verseusing app configuration
You can also use IMAP/POP3 email profiles to specify how

devices connect to IMAP or POP3 mail servers and synchronize email messages. Devices activated to use Knox
MDM do not support IMAP or POP3.You can use
