Network settings

The network restrictions (such as firewalls and routers) should support the Lync policy settings:
  • If the value 
    ClientMediaPortRangeEnabled
     is false, each port range value should be open for communication between the 
    NDS
     machine and the end users.
  • If the value 
    ClientMediaPortRangeEnabled
     is true, the port range specified by [ClientAudioPort , ClientAudioPortRange] should be open for communication between NDS machine and the end users.
Normally, the network settings support the Lync requirements. However, if you need to open more ports, you might need to make network changes.
