Upgrade a domain that consists of multiple instances of
BlackBerry UEM

During the first stage of the upgrade, you can set the start.windows.services parameter in the deployer.properties file to false when you upgrade each instance so that the services do not start automatically and you can proceed to the second stage.
If the recommended upgrade path is to upgrade
BlackBerry UEM
versions in stages, then you must upgrade all instances to the first stage, restart them and upgrade them all to the second stage. For example, if you are running
BES12
version 12.5, you must upgrade all instances to
BlackBerry UEM
version 12.7 before you upgrade them to
BlackBerry UEM
version 12.9. After you upgrade the instances to version 12.7, synchronize the environment, restart the instances and upgrade them to
BlackBerry UEM
 version 12.9.
  1. Shut down all instances of
    BlackBerry UEM
     in the domain.
    If you are upgrading from
    BlackBerry UEM
version 12.8.1 or version 12.9.1, you do not have to shut down any instances of
    BlackBerry UEM
     to upgrade them.
  2. Upgrade one
    BlackBerry UEM
     core instance to
    BlackBerry UEM
     version 12.10.
The setup application also backs up and upgrades the
    BlackBerry UEM
     database. After the upgrade, the
    BlackBerry UEM
     instance starts automatically.
  3. Upgrade the other
    BlackBerry UEM
     core or management console instances.
  4. Upgrade any
    BlackBerry Connectivity Node
-only instances (that contain only the device connectivity components) last.
